Build the Perfect Crystal Board: Pick Your Crystal, Board, and Layout Quiz
A crystal board is a flat surface, usually printed or carved with sacred geometry, that you use to arrange stones with a purpose. People call it a crystal grid. The board gives your stones a structure to sit in and that structure helps focus the intention you are working with. You are not just setting pretty rocks on a shelf. You are building a deliberate piece of energy work that you can see and tend to every day.
If you have ever felt lost in front of a wall of crystals, this is the guide that fixes that. We will go in the order that actually works: intention first, then crystal, then board, then layout, then how long to leave it out.

Step 1: Start with the intention, not the crystal
This is the part most people skip and it is the part that matters most. A crystal board works because it points your attention at one clear goal. Pick the crystal before the intention and you end up with a board that means nothing in particular.
So ask yourself one question: What am I setting my intention on right now?
Be honest and be specific. "More money" is better than "good vibes." "Sleep through the night" is better than "feel better." The clearer the intention, the easier every other choice becomes.
Most intentions fall into one of six families. Find yours below, along with the anchor stone and the Oracle Magick board that fits it.
If you are calling in... Your anchor stone, Your board and color:
Love, warmth, softer relationships: Rose Quartz, Flower of Life in Rose Gold and Champagne
Money, work, steady abundance: Citrine, Seed of Life in Green and Champagne
Protection and boundaries: Black Tourmaline, Flower of Life in Copper and Rose Gold
Clarity and a decision made: Fluorite, Seed of Life in Blue and Silver
Rest, calm, deep sleep: Amethyst, Crescents in Purple and Silver
Intuition and spiritual growth: Labradorite, Crescents in Purple and Silver
Step 2: Choose your crystals by role, not just by name
Every good board uses stones in three roles. You do not need a huge collection. You need the right three jobs covered.
The center stone, or anchor. This is the heart of the board and it carries your whole intention. Use one stone, and make it the one most tied to your goal. Rose quartz for love. Citrine for money. Black tourmaline for protection. This is the stone you hold and speak to when you set the board.
The way stones. These are the supporting stones that ring the center and carry its energy outward. Six is a classic number because it sits cleanly on most sacred geometry. Pick one or two stone types that back up your intention. For a money board, that might be pyrite and green aventurine around your citrine. For rest, selenite and lepidolite around your amethyst.
The points, or directors. These are usually clear quartz points, and they aim the energy. Turn them inward and you pull energy toward the center, which is what you want for protection or intuition work. Turn them outward and you send the intention out into the world, which is what you want for abundance or clarity. For soft, restful boards, you can skip points entirely.
That is the whole system. Anchor, way stones, points. Once you understand the three roles, you can build a board for anything.
Step 3: Pick the board, pattern and color
The board you choose carries meaning in two ways. The sacred geometry is the container and the color is the tone. Our boards are 3D printed in silk filament and charged under the full moon. They come in three patterns, each available in a range of color and metallic finishes, including rose gold, copper, green, blue, purple, and champagne.
The Flower of Life is the all-purpose board. Its overlapping circles spread energy in every direction, which makes it lovely for love, harmony, and protection. In rose gold it leans toward the heart. In copper it grounds and shields.
The Seed of Life is the fresh-start board. Seven clean circles, one clear center, no clutter. Use it when you are manifesting something new or you need clarity and a decision. In green it pulls toward growth and abundance. In blue it keeps a clear, focused head.
The Crescents board honors rest, cycles, and intuition. It is gentle by design, which makes it a beautiful bedside board and a natural base for dream and divination work. In purple and silver it opens the lunar, restful, psychic end of things.
Color is not decoration. Rose gold is love and warmth. Green is growth, abundance, and money. Copper is grounding and protection. Blue is a clear head, truth, and focus. Purple and silver are lunar, restful, and intuitive. Match the color to the same intention you matched the pattern to, and the whole board speaks with one voice.

Step 4: Lay the stones
Here is the basic arrangement that works for almost any board.
Cleanse your board and your stones first. Smoke, sound, or a slow breath all work fine.
Place your anchor stone in the exact center. Hold it, say your intention out loud, then set it down. This is the moment the board comes alive.
Ring the center with your way stones. Six stones in an even circle is the standard, alternating two types if you are using two.
Set your points last, facing inward to gather energy or outward to send it.
Activate the board by tracing one continuous line from stone to stone, ending at the center. Say your intention one final time to close it.
Step 5: How long to leave it out on display?
This is the question almost no one answers. How long a board stays out depends on the intention, not the calendar.
Boards that stay up. Some grids are meant to live in your space. A protection grid is a standing ward, so leave it by a door or window and let it work. An abundance grid wants to stay active too, somewhere you see it daily. These do not get tucked away. They get recharged, once a month is plenty, ideally under the full moon.
Boards that come down. Some grids are a single working with an end point. A clarity grid built for one decision can come down the moment the decision is made. Once it has done its job, take it apart, thank the stones, and put it away. Leaving a finished working up just lets it go stale.
Boards that are flexible. A rest grid lives bedside and can stay out softly, or you can tuck it away during the day if you want the room clear. An intuition or dream grid is similar. Many readers put theirs away between sessions on purpose, so the energy stays personal to them. Both are correct. Do what keeps the work feeling alive to you.
As a rule of thumb, give any board at least one full moon cycle before you decide it is finished. Recharge it whenever it feels dull, and refresh the spoken intention at each new moon if the working is still going. When the goal arrives or the working feels complete, take it down with the same care you set it up.
The simple version, if you are new
You do not need all of this to begin. A single anchor stone in the center of any board, with your intention spoken over it, is a real crystal board. Add the way stones when you are ready. Add the points after that. Start small and let it grow.
