What We Believe About Tarot
We are a shop of crystals, tarot readings, and a fair amount of mischief. We will be the first to tell you we like a little chaos, a little shadow, and a little weird. But here is the thing people get wrong about us. When it comes to tarot, we care about it more than almost anything else we do. So we sat down and wrote out what we actually believe, because if you are going to read with us, you deserve to know where we stand.
The cards do not control your fate. You do.
Let us get the big one out of the way first. We do not read tarot as fortune telling. We know that might lose some of you and we made our peace with that, because we are taking this stance on purpose.
We are here to hand you the wheel. Not the cards. Not fate. Not anyone who wants to tell you how your life is going to go. You are the one who decides that. The cards do not get a vote and neither does anybody else.
Tarot is a mirror. You write the story.
Tarot is a language. Its vocabulary is the stuff we all live through as humans, love, loss, fear, starting over, and the long quiet middle parts. When you learn to read that language, the deck becomes a tool you can actually use. It helps you shape your own narrative.
What you see in a spread is a reflection of your own inner world. That is the whole point. Sitting with that reflection, getting honest about what is in there, is some of the most important work you will ever do for yourself.
We make magic by working with symbols and telling our stories.
Our lives are a constant trade between our inner world and our outer one. We are built to find ourselves reflected in everything around us, and then we act based on what we believe we see. Every choice you make shapes the world into being.
So follow that thread. If you knew yourself deeply, truly, you could change how you see and move through the world. We believe that if every one of us became who we were actually meant to be, the world would be a far more interesting place to live in. We would like to see that.
When you connect to yourself, you build empathy for everyone else.
Here is the part that surprises people. The stories in the cards are not just yours. They belong to all of us. We are all walking some version of the Fool's Journey, all of us setting out, falling down, learning, and beginning again.
We live in a world that connects us through screens without ever teaching us how to build something real with another person. Tarot teaches the opposite lesson. When you learn the story the cards tell, you start to recognize that same story in other people. That is how bridges get built. That is how we learn to sit with someone else and actually understand them.
That is what we are really doing here, underneath the crystals and the card pulls and the shenanigans. We are serious about tarot because we are serious about you, and about what happens when you finally meet yourself.
